Where is the Kunming?

Kunming, capital of Yunnan Province, is located in the middle of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, passing through Sichuan and Chongqing northward the Central Plains. Bordering Yuxi City in the southwest, Honghe Hani Yi Autonomous Prefecture in the southeast, Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture in the west, and Qujing City in the east, it is the core circle of central Yunnan urban agglomeration and the center of 5-hour aviation circle in Asia. Kunming is the forefront and the portal of China facing Southeast Asia, South Asia and even the Middle East, southern Europe and Africa.

How’s Weather in Kunming in October?

Kunming has a pleasant spring-like climate, with no intense heat in summer and no severe cold in the winter, with a typical temperate climate characteristics. Its urban temperature is between 0-29℃, with the smallest annual temperature difference in the country. Such climate characteristics in Kunming are rare in the world as flowers bloom all year round and plants are always green. Kunming is the famous “spring city” and “flower city”. 

Kunming in October is cool and a little rainy but often sunny. It marks the end of both the rainy monsoon season and the high tourist season. The average daily low and high temperatures are respectively 12 °C (54 °F) and 20 °C (68 °F). Shirts with long sleeves, a jacket and long trousers or dresses are appropriate. UV radiation is strong on sunny days, so pay attention to sun protection if you go outdoors. On rainy days, you’ll need rain gear.

How to Get to Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center from Kunming Airport?

Upon arrival at the airport, taxi is the most convenient way going to downtown area from the airport. In daytime, the starting fare is CNY 8 for the first 3 km and CNY 1.8 per km for the rest of the journey. At night (22:00-06:00 next day), it is CNY 9.6 for the first 3 km and CNY 2.1 per km for the rest. It takes about 1 hour from Changshui Airport to Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center at the cost of around CNY 100. If you want to take the subway/bus, you should take subway 6 from the airport, then transfer to subway 3, then subway 2 and subway 1, or take No.919 bus C1 line and then transfer to Bus K15/207.

How to Get Shilin from Kunming?

There are daily trains from Kunming railway station and Kunming south railway station to Shilin west railway station. Or you can also take regular buses to Shilin County from Kunming East Bus Station.
