4 Days Jianshui Confucian Culture Festival Tour

Confucian Culture Festival is held mainly in Jianshui County, Honghe Prefecture. Activities include worshipping Confucius ceremony, a tour to the Wen Temple, art performances, local music performances, costume parades and so on. In addition, the festival also holds shows and exhibitions, like lantern shows, calligraphy and painting exhibitions, cultural tourism product exhibitions and trade fairs.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Kunming -Jianshui

Sightseeing and Activities:Stone Forest
Accommodation: Jianshui
Meals

Morning,  pick up from your hotel,  transfer 1.5hrs to visit Stone Forest,  Then you will continue 4-5hrs driving to the Jianshui County. Check in your hotel after arriving at Jianshui.

Day 2 Jianshui

Sightseeing and Activities:Tuanshan Village, Double dragon bridge, Zhu’s Family Garden, Jianshui Old Town, a local Doufu Workshop
Accommodation: Jianshui
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Today, you will take one way sightseeing train about 2.5hrs from Jianshui town to Tuanshan village, going through the 12.82 km narrow-gauge railway(soft class seat).  Enjoy the view of field, village on the way. And have a stop at Twin Dragon Bridge to take the picture, which is a 17-hole bridge with 148 meters long, 3-8 meters wide.  

Then take off the train, make a tour of Tuanshan Village which is a rare surviving example of an intact-albeit neglected-traditional walled Yunnan village compound in southwestern China, and has been added to the 2005 list of internationally significant sites by the World Memorial Fund for Architecture (WMF), an international fund for the protection of world heritage sites. 

Afterward, drive back to Jianshui city and have the tour of  Zhu Family Garden. The so-called ‘Grand View Garden’ of South Yunnan Province, is a representative of Chinese residential houses of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). When walking through the garden, it really seems as if you are strolling through the Grand View Garden depicted in ‘A Dream of the Red Mansions’ (a famous Chinese Classical novel by Cao Xueqin (1724-1764) in the Qing Dynasty). This garden was the residence and ancestral temple of the rich man Zhu Weiqing and his brother in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).

Later , Stroll in Jianshui Old Town, to see Chaoyang Gateway Tower, Old Well , and a local Doufu Workshop.

Day 3 Jianshui

Enjoy the worshiping Confucius ceremony, a tour to the Confucian Temple, art performances, local music performances, costume parades and so on. In addition, the festival also holds shows and exhibitions, like lantern shows, calligraphy and painting exhibitions, cultural tourism product exhibitions and trade fairs.

Day 4 Jianshui -Kunming

Sightseeing and Activities:Xinmeng Village of Tong hai

Morning departure from Jianshui and drive back to Kunming. On the way, have a stop at Xinmeng Village of Tong hai.  Upon arrival, escort you to the airport for your departure flight.
