Daju Town Culture

Daju is a multi-ethnic town, where people of the Naxi, Han and other ethnic people live. Therefore, cultural diversity is also very prominent.

1.Ethnic Group

In 2006, the total population of Daju Town was 9,775, among which there were 6,951 Naxi People, 1,372 Han people, 623 Yi People and 829 other nationalities.

2. Ethnic Village

Huiyingpan village(会营盘村) of Peiliang is selected as one of Chinese ethnic characteristic villages.

3.Ethnic Culture

Daju town is an important transfer station for the development of Dongba culture spreading to Lijiang, which is also the cradle for Naxi Dongba culture developing and growing stronger. Besides, there are other colorful cultures of Han people, Yi people, etc.

4. Ethnic Festival

The ethnic festivals held in Daju Town are manly Naxi People's. Naxi People has strong suit of folk singing and dancing. Every year of the lunar January 6, February 8 and the fifteenth day of every month, the melody of Naxi ancient music is reverberating in the sky.
