Huihuideng Mosque, located in Huihuideng Village, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Dali, Yunnan Province, is a significant religious site for the Hui Muslim community. The mosque complex consists of a main prayer hall and several side rooms, with the main prayer hall positioned to the west, a courtyard to the east, and side rooms to the north and south.
Historical Background
- Founding and Early Years: The main prayer hall was originally built in the second year of Ming Hongwu’s reign (1369) but was destroyed by a fire in the early years of the Guangxu period.
- Restoration and Rebuilding: It was rebuilt in the twentieth year of the Guangxu period (1894). In 1944, a new hall was added to the west, coexisting with the old hall. In 1993, to accommodate the growing population, significant renovations were undertaken. The hall built in 1894 was demolished, the old hall was moved eastward to serve as the girls’ school, and a new main prayer hall was constructed on the original site, connecting with the 1944 hall, forming the largest prayer hall in the province today.

It features a hexagonal pavilion on the roof ridge and two towering Arabic minarets at the corners of the front eaves.
