Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (Yulong Mountain) is the southernmost glacier in the Northern Hemisphere, renowned for its breathtaking beauty and unique cultural significance. Spanning 35 kilometers in length and 20 kilometers in width, the mountain is home to 13 majestic peaks, with Shanzidou being the highest at 5,600 meters. When viewed from Lijiang Old Town, just 15 kilometers away, the snow-covered mountain appears as a jade dragon lying among the clouds, giving it its evocative name.
This 1-day tour takes you through some of the most spectacular landscapes in Yunnan, from the high-altitude Yak Meadow (3,700m) to the dramatic Glacier Park Cableway (5,396m). In the morning, Our guide will meet you at your hotel, then drive to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain which is 30 kilometers away from Lijiang Old Town. Visit Ganhaizi Meadow, then take the sightseeing bus to visit Baishui River, which is well-known as the Blue Moon Valley from the glacier of the snow mountain.
Take Yak Meadow Cableway to visit the Yak Meadow of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The Yak Meadow Cableway provides an exciting and scenic way to access the Yak Meadow on Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, one of the most iconic and breathtaking natural attractions in Yunnan Province. Located at an altitude of 3,700 meters (12,139 feet), the Yak Meadow is a stunning alpine area known for its wide, grassy meadows, magnificent views of the snow-covered peaks of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and its serene, untouched atmosphere. Watch Impression Lijiang Ethnic Show in the outdoors theater in front of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.The Impression Lijiang Ethnic Show is one of the most popular cultural performances in Yunnan Province, set against the stunning backdrop of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Directed by renowned filmmaker Zhang Yimou, who also directed the famous Impression Sanjie Liu show in Yangshuo, this outdoor theater performance blends ethnic music, dance, and stunning natural landscapes to tell the story of the diverse cultures and traditions of the Naxi, Yi, Tibetan, and other ethnic groups in the Lijiang region. It’s an immersive and visually spectacular show that offers a unique way to experience the culture and beauty of this region.
In the afternoon, visit Baisha Old Town which is one of the oldest towns in Lijiang City. It got its name “Baisha” meaning “white sand” from the natural white sand in the area. It was the cradle-land of the Tusi Dynasty evolved from the Mu Clan. It was also the earliest settlement of the Naxi people. In ancient times, Baisha was a center of silk embroidery in southwest China and an important place on the Ancient Tea and Horse Road.
Finaly we will visit the Baisha Mural which has a history of about 600 years, it was listed in the World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO 1997. Transfer back to your hotel, service ends.
Located north of Lijiang Ancient Town, Baisha Village is the original settlement of the Naxi people, and the earliest cultural and political center of Lijiang. There, one of the most valuable treasures of Chinese painting – Baisha Murals (also known as Lijiang Murals) is kept and displayed in the old but splendid temples. Featured with unique religious subjects and superb painting skills, these murals serve as one of the important forms of Lijiang Dongba culture, and allure tourists who are intend to have an in-depth exploration of Lijiang to visit and admire.
