2.Geographical Location
Zhanyi(沾益) is located to the East of Yunnan Provice, east longitude 103°29′-104°14′, north latitude 25°31′-26°06′, in the center of Qujing Municipal. It covers a area of 2801 Square kilometres, with a population of 0.028 million. It's also called the "first state to enter Yunnan", or the gate to Yunnan from ancient time.

Zhanyi County belongs to the north subtropical monsoon climate zone. The county has a total population of 431,000, including a minority population of 28,000. In 2011, the total production value reached 11.7 billion yuan (17th in Yunnan Province). In 2011, the fiscal revenue was 1.235 billion yuan. It is in the forefront of Yunnan's county economy and is listed in the top 100 western economic counties. 4.History
Zhanyi District is the birthplace of Chinese third longest river, the Pearl River. As early as the Tang Dynasty in 621 AD , the first Xiping State City was built here. Later, and there was the Yizuolong City, one of the thirty-seventh parts of the Momi Tribe in Dali Kingdom Period, and it was the Jiaoshui City of the Zhanyi Prefecture at Yuan Dynasty. And it was as well as the new Jiaoshui City during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It can be said that Zhanyi is a historic city with a long history in Yunnan.
