The Glacier Park(冰山公园） is located in Jade Dragon Snow Mountain( 玉龙雪山），the Jade Dragon Naxi automous county（玉龙纳西族自县境），Lijiang city(丽江市），Yunnan province(云南省),it is a typical representative of modern glacier in Jade Dragon Snow Mountain .The Glacier Park is a park of stone caves formed by erosion of glacier.It is a geomorphic relic formed by recent glacier and is known as “Lucerne Glass Palace”.(卢塞恩玻璃宫）
On the morning of May 22,the news came out of the press conference on the capacity control of tourists in the Glacier Park of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in Lijiang(丽江玉龙雪山公园），in order to control the passenger flow,strenghen the protection of resources and improve the pleasure of visiting, from day on, the maximum number of tourists in a single day of the park is limited to 10,000.
The Brief Introduction of The Glacier Park
The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain(玉龙雪山） is one of thefirst national 5A tourists attraction in China,with an area of 415 square kilometers and a maximum elevation of 5,596 meters,It is more than 20 kilometers away from the Old Town of Lijiang(丽江古城) ,a world cultural heritage site. You can have a overall landscape overview by riding the fully enclosed ropeway.At the upper station of the ropeway and out of the station room ,you enter the Glacier Park of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain which is the lowest latitude snow mountain in Eursia with modern glacier distribution.In its east, there are four phase of the pleistocene ruins of ancient glaciation distributed.In such an area close to the city,however, there is a small but very complete many kinds of modern glaciers and ancient traces, which is concentrated the global low-latitude mountain glacier in essence, and is veryrare in our country.It plays an important role in the research on the glacier,ecological environment protection, tourism and scentific research.
Reasons for its foemation
The Glacier Park is a park of stone caves formed by erosion of glacier.It is a geomorphic relic formed by recent glacier and is known as “Lucerne Glass Palace”(卢塞恩玻璃宫).It was discovered in the city of Lucerne（卢塞恩） in central Swizerland（瑞士）in 1872.It shows people the view of Swizerland glacier in the history. And there are models of human life during the ice age in the park.
Location
The Glacier Park is located 32 kilometers of north of Lijiang,on Jade Dragon Snow Mountain,it is a typical representative of modern glacier in Jade Dragon Snow Mountain .You can take 15 minutes to get there by taking Jade Dragon Snow Mountain ropeway(from 3356 meters to 4506 meters).
The Main Attractions
The Glacier Park is covered by the snow in the winter and spring,which is our country’s best place to ski and play snow.In the summer and autum, you can enjoy the scenery area long 2.7 kilometers. the Whitewater 1 Glacier(白水一号冰川).Praised as “Green Snow Peak”(绿雪奇峰），the ice tower forest,like a huge piece of ice jade,inlaid in the craggy rocks.In the snow area from 4506 to 4800 meters above sea level, you can challenge the limit and surpass yourself.In ten thousnd years of snow, purification of the soul.
Snow Mountain Cableway(雪山大索道)
Travling about 5 kilomters from Ganhaizi(甘海子）,then come to the station of the foot of the snow mountain,which is the starting point of the snow mountain cableway,a dense virgin forest.The length of the cableway is 2914 meters,and the vertical height difference is 1150 meters,which is China’ highest altitude touris tropeway.The ropeway adopts the luxurious lifting box with 6 seats,which is safe and comfortable.Your journey is from the vast forest at the lower station to the snow-covered area at the upper station.It just cost half an hour,but you seem have experienced four seasons.Strong seasonal changes,warm and cold differences,scenery conversion,will make you excited,because the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is the Yunnan subtropical high mountain.From the foot of the vally to the summit off the mountain ,there is a subtropical zone,temperate zone to the cold zone complete vertical natural landscope,and you can travel to experience in a very short time.

Ticket Information
It is included in the ticket of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, but you need to take the cableway （182 yuan,including 2 yuan insurance）
Safety Tips
The temparature of this area is relaively low,so visitors are advised to bring thick clothes.As to whether need oxgen cylinder,differ from person to person,generally the young men should not need,but the old is different.For out-of-town visiors,it’s a worthwhile trip to take photos and play snow.
Ways of Transportation

Charter bus to Ganhaizi tourist center(甘海子游客中心) of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and transfer to the lower station of the ropeway(索道下部站).

Taking 7 charter bus at Redsun Square(红太阳广场） in Lijiang（It is not belong to the bus system,the fee for greeting in advance ,and then to the Ganhazi tourist center(甘海子游客中心) transfer special bus to the lower station of the cableway(索道下部站).

There are so many people, so you need to buy tickets in advance in the ticker center, where is in north of tourism and culture of Yunnan University(云南大学旅游文化学院) in the north of Lijiang.

People with high blood pressure,heart disease and a bad cold can not go on this cableway, high altitude will have life ganger.

From the upper part of ropeway station(索道上部站) 4506 meters can walkto 4680 meters,there will be altitude sickness, you’d better do your ability.And you need to make good phisical and psycological adjustment in advance because of high altitude hypoxia.

Please be prepared in advance that you not always go even if you buy the tickrts because of the wind in the spring and winter .Generally it is better in the morning,but more people will queue for a long time.
