Day 1 Kunming-Shilin-Yuanyang
Sightseeing and Activities: the Stone Forest, Longshuba Rice Terraces

At 08:00 am, our guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Kunming, then drive to the Stone Forest(85 km, 1.5 h). An extremely rare geological phenomenon dating back to 270 million years ago, the Stone Forest is 80 hectares of karst limestone pillars in fantastic shapes which resemble a forest viewed from a distance. It is also home to the Sani tribe, a branch of the Yi minority renowned for their diligence, embroidery and dancing.
After visiting, drive 6 hours to Yuanyang. Yuanyang is now attracting more and more attention of overseas tourists for its unparalleled terraced paddies and diversified ethnic cultures of the Hani, Yi, Dai and Yao. If time permits, drive to enjoy the sunset view of Longshuba Rice Terraces which is located 5 kilometers away from Xinjie town. Then stay overnight in Yuanyang.
Day 2 Yuanyang-Kunming
Sightseeing and Activities: Yuanyang Hani Rice Terrace, Duoyishu Village, Qingkou Village, Bada Hani Rice Terrace, Shengcun Market

Get up very early in the morning, we will drive 30 km to visit Doyishu Village and enjoy the sunrise of Duoyishu Rice Terrace Fields. The terraced fields ring upon ring and go along the hillside up to the sky. You will see the scenery of the terraced fields from the top of the mountains to the bottom. Under the sunshine, Rice Terrace is spectacular.
And then, you will visit Qingkou Village and rice terraces where Hani people inhabit for generations. Visit Bada Hani Rice Terrace, Shengcun Market as well. After lunch, we will depart from Yuanyang and back to Kunming (6-7 hours driving). On the way, have a stop at Tonghai to have a tour of Xinmeng Village which is the only Mongolian village in Yunnan, with a history over 750 years. Upon arrival Kunming, check in your hotel.(OWN BOOKING). Service ends.

It was delightful to join in the 2-Day Yuanyang Hani Rice Terraces tour to enjoy both the marvelous natural scenery of Stone Forest and spectacular Hani Rice Terrace and experience the culture of Yi and Hani minority. The schedule was reasonable, and the scenery was deserved though we have to get up early before 8:00 am. In the first day, we visited Stone Forest, which is time-honored and famous for its karst limestone pillars in fantastic shapes and then arrive at Yuanyang. In the second day, we returned to Kunming after visiting various rice terrace and experiencing the culture of Yi and Hani minority in local villages. The luggage transfers between airports and hotels, the accommodation on the first night, admission fee and three meals were included, which all made the journey easier.

It was a very pleasant journey I just finished. The natural spectacular landscape of the Stone Forest and the masterpiece of the Hani people’s Rice Terrace is so marvelous and unique, but I think the attentive service is the key to made my journey so delightful.
