Moscow Sheremecheva Airport (谢列蔑契娃机场) is a civil airport located in Moscow, Russia. It is the hub of Russian Airlines and the second largest airport in Russia and Moscow. The airport handled 12.76 million passengers and 110,887 tons of cargo in 2006. It is 35 kilometers away from the centre of Moscow. There are two terminal buildings 10 kilometers apart. So they are also seen as two airports. SVO-2 is also known as Seremicheva International Airport, from which most international flights take off and land. SVO-1 is often referred to as Seremicheva-1 Airport, mainly taking off and landing domestic flights and some international flights. SVO-2 was built for the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games.
