Dailu Waterfall in Luxi County, Honghe
Dailu Waterfall 泸西县歹鲁瀑布 is located in Dailu Village, Xiangyang Township, Luxi County, Honghe Prefecture. It is 44 kilometers from Luxi County’s downtown area and is the most famous waterfall in Luxi. Spanning a distance of 7 kilometers, the waterfall cascades through eleven tiers, with the highest tier featuring a drop of over 70 meters. The waterfall flows through the mountains and leaps over cliffs, creating a dramatic and impressive spectacle. Clear mountain springs flow from the heights, plunging down to form a series of cascading falls over the 7-kilometer stretch. In summer, the water flows like a white ribbon falling from the sky, appearing as towering columns or bolts of lightning, making it particularly striking. The roar of the waterfall resembles rolling thunder, with a powerful and tumultuous sound. Mist rises and droplets scatter, with the impact against the rocks creating thousands of splashes that turn into colorful beads under the sunlight.
The water flows like a white ribbon from the heavens, resembling towering columns that pierce the sky or lightning bolts that stand out vividly. The sound is like thunder, roaring and surging, with mist rising and droplets splashing. The crashing water creates countless splashes that, under the sunlight, turn into a dazzling array of colorful droplets.
Dailu Waterfall is well-known in Luxi. Over a 7-kilometer stretch, it features eleven tiers of waterfalls, with the highest tier dropping more than 70 meters, creating a grand and awe-inspiring scene. The waterfall can be seen from the roadside upstream, where the clear water and gentle terrain offer a calm contrast to the wild and vigorous flow downstream.
Currently, the Dailu Waterfall Scenic Area does not charge an admission fee and is open 24 hours a day. Visitors can take a bus from Luxi County’s passenger station to Dailu Village on routes such as “Luxi – Yunpeng Power Station” or “Luxi – Dailu.” Alternatively, visitors can drive to Dailu Village directly. The waterfall is located a few kilometers downhill from Shaobu Bai Village.

- By Car: From Kunming to Shilin to Luxi to Dailu Village (approximately 3 hours in total).
