The Pacific monsoon from the east is blocked by the north-south mountains of Hengduan Mountains. Rain falls on the east slope of the mountain. The wind forms the hot-blast air after blowing over the ridge to the west. The Indian Ocean monsoon from the southwest has sprinkled strong rainfall on the Dulong River and Nu River. The rainfall in Benzilan (374mm) is only one-tenth of that of the Dulong River (4,600mm), which forms the typical dry-warm valley climate. In the area of the Three Parallel Rivers, the climate is complex and varied, and there are many different kinds of creatures. More than a dozen ethnic groups lived together to form a rare natural-human wonder.
