2. Administrative Division of Dayao County

As of 2014, Dayao County has jurisdiction over 8 towns, 4 townships (One of them is ethnic townships.): Jinbi Town(金碧镇), Shiyang Town(石羊镇), Liuyu Town(六苴镇), Longjie Town(龙街镇), Zhaojiadian Town(赵家店镇), Xinjie Town(新街镇), Yenhua Township(昙花乡), Guihua Town(桂花乡), Wanbi Dai and Lisu Township(湾碧傣族傈僳族乡), Tiesuo Township(铁锁乡), Santai Township(三台乡), Sancha River Town(三岔河乡).

3. Geography

The terrain is divided into three main categories: alpine mountains and mountain areas, above 2500 meters above sea level; hilly flat dam areas, which mean the scattered small blocks among mountains, are between 1800 meters and 2100 above sea level; and Jinsha River valley areas are between 1000 and 1, 500 meters above sea level.

The climate in Dayao is warm and temperate. The rain falls mostly in the winter, with relatively little rain in the summer. This climate is considered to be Csa according to the Köppen-Geiger climate classification. The average annual temperature is 17.6 °C. The average annual rainfall is 888 mm.

5. The Best Time to Go

With favorable weather all year round, Dayao County is a beautiful place worth traveling, especially from March to October-the best time to visit Nanhua when blooming flowers, ripe fruits and festival activities all gather together.

6. Transportation

Dayao County has a provincial highway S 217,which connects Sichuan in the north Sichuan, Dali in the west, Kunming and Chuxiong in the east.

In 2010, Dayao County has an art performance group, a mass cultural museum, one cultural relics management institute and 12 Township Cultural Service centers.

In 2011, the GDP of Dayao County reached 4.79 billion yuan, the total revenue of finance reached 340 million yuan, the local general budget income reached 220 million yuan, the total industrial output value reached 2.96 billion yuan, the total fixed assets investment of the whole society was 2.58 billion yuan.

Dayao is rich in tourist resources. Dayao enjoys natural attractions left in different periods, such as Miaofeng Mountain and Tanhua Mountain. What's more, Dayao is famous for cultural attractions, such as Deyun Temple, Shiyang Confucius Temple and Dayao White Pagoda.
