Heqing County Climate
Heqing County is at the southern end of the Hengduan Mountains in the west of Yunnan and east of the Yunling Mountains. The climate of Heqing County is a plateau monsoon climate with the dry winter and cool summer. It is a transitional climate zone between subtropical and temperate zones. Due to the special geographical environment, the disparity of landforms constitutes a unique “three-dimensional climate” of “one mountain divided into four seasons and ten different days”. The annual average temperature is 13.5 °C, the annual average sunshine hours is 2300.2 hours, the annual rainfall is 966.4 mm, the annual average frost-free period is 210 days, the annual average wind speed is 2.6 m/s, and the annual wind direction is the southwest wind.
