Xiangyun County Festivals and Events
In Xiangyun County, Bai ethnic minority created brilliant culture and customs, among which the unique traditional festivals of Bai people enjoy good fame and attract tourists home and abroad to visit.
‣ Tianfengshan Mountain Song Festival
On the 15th of the second lunar month every year, the compatriots and tourists from all ethnic groups, gather Tianfengshan Mountain to participate in the grand singing and singing activities, and enjoying the scenery.
‣ Mute (Yaba) Festival of Yi Ethnic Minority
It is held on the 17th of the second lunar month, and in Qixuan Village of Hedian Town. Main activities include sacrificial ceremony and “dumb dance” show.
‣ Visiting Three Spirits
Visiting Three Spirits is a grand big festival held by Bai people to pray for rain and luck and worship their patron god.
‣ Third Month Fair(March Fair)
The Third Month, dated back to the Tang Dynasty, falls from the 15th to 21st of the third lunar month. It was developed from a temple fair of Goddess of Mercy to commercial market.
‣ Qingguniang Festival
It is the 15th day of the first lunar month. Qingqing Festival is a commemorative song and dance festival for Bai women.
