Girder erection begins on Dali-Lincang railway

Girder erection on the Dali-Lincang railway section, part of the China-Myanmar international railway, kicked off June 18 on the Tuanjie bridge in Weishan County, west Yunnan’s Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture.
With each weighing 140 metric tons, the T-shaped girders were erected through the JQ190 bridging machine, which is operated by a 25-member crew.
A total of 1,304 girders need to be equipped on bridges of the rail section
As part of Yunnan’s 8 cross-province and 5 cross-border railways, the Dali-Lincang section extended over 200 kilometers with a designed speed of 160 km/h.
Upon completion, the Dali-Lincang railway is expected to upgrade local communication system, spurring socio-economic development in southwest Yunnan.
