Location: The station is located in Gongguoqiao Town, Yunlong County, Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province.

Basin Position: It is the first level station in the cascade development of the middle and lower reaches of the Lancang River.

Hub Composition: The hub mainly consists of a roller-compacted concrete gravity dam, five spillway surface holes on the dam body, one spillway bottom hole, and an underground water diversion power generation system.

Dam Type and Dimensions: The roller-compacted concrete gravity dam has a maximum height of 105 meters and a crest length of 361 meters.

Reservoir Capacity: The normal water storage level of the reservoir is 1307 meters, with a corresponding capacity of 316 million cubic meters, and it is a daily regulation reservoir.

Installation Scale: The station is equipped with four vertical Francis turbine generator units with a single-unit capacity of 225,000 kilowatts, with a total installed capacity of 900,000 kilowatts.

Preparation Work: The project started preparation work in May 2007.

Commencement of Construction: The river was blocked in December 2008, and the concrete pouring of the main dam started in May 2009.

Water Storage and Power Generation: The first unit was put into operation in October 2011, and all four units were put into operation in June 2012.

Energy Supply: Gongguoqiao Hydropower Station is an important power source for “West-to-East Power Transmission” and “Yunnan Power Transmission”. Its completion and operation are of great significance for optimizing the energy structure and promoting regional economic development.

Environmental Protection: During the construction of the project, the “three simultaneous” system of soil and water conservation was strictly implemented, and the national soil and water conservation policies were earnestly followed, forming a comprehensive soil and water conservation measures system. It has won the China Power Quality Project Award and the China Installation Project Quality Award (China Installation Star).
