Baoshan Stone City is an ancient Naxi village built in the early Yuan Dynasty. It is named for the more than 100 households that live on a mushroom-shaped rock. The city is characterized by its tile-roofed houses and crisscrossing alleys. The Naxi residents have built their homes into the rock, with house posts and eaves following the natural contours of the stone, creating a rustic and natural appearance.

Experiencing Naxi Culture

The residents of the Stone City make full use of the local stone to create stone houses, tables, stools, and other furniture. The craftsmanship is truly remarkable and a testament to the ingenuity of the local people.

Hiking

From the Stone City, you can embark on a hike to Taizi Pass (太子关). Along the way, you will pass through the 90-meter cave, the 60-meter cave, and the Tiger’s Mouth. This route is a must-visit for outdoor enthusiasts.
