Top Muslim Mosques in Dali

In Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture, several prominent mosques are accessible to Muslim visitors during their travels. It is advisable for Muslim travelers to refer to this list for any important information they may need.

Dali Zhihua Mosque(大理市芝华清真寺)

Location: Zhihua Village, Fengyi Town, Dali City, Yunnan Province
The construction date of the mosque is unknown. It was renovated in 1906 and expanded and restored in 1983. It covers an area of 3.4 acres and a building area of 404 square meters.
It is designated as a key cultural relic in Dali City.

Dali Shangxingzhuang Mosque(大理市上兴庄清真寺)

Location: Shangxingzhuang Village, Yongxing, Xizhou Town, Dali City, Yunnan Province
The mosque runs an Arabic school, which has trained more than 100 Arabic graduates in the past ten years. There are currently 27 old, middle-aged and young imams who graduated in Chinese and Arabic, and 20 foreign imams (Hai Lifan). There are 10 school directors.

Dali Kelizhuang Mosque（大理珂里庄清真寺）

Location: Kelizhuang, Xizhou Town, Dali City, Yunnan Province
The mosque was built in 1908, covering an area of 4.5 acres. It is large in scale and majestic. The prayer hall is in the style of a Chinese palace, with a construction area of 290 square meters, which can accommodate hundreds of people for worship at the same time.
The minaret was added in 1926. The base is a 2-story building with 5 large rooms, and the middle is the main entrance. After 1978, the prayer hall was renovated and the minaret was rebuilt. The total building area of the temple is 915 square meters.

Guoguo Mosque in Eryuan County（洱源县国果清真寺）

Locaiton: Cibi Township, Eryuan County, Yunnan Province
The existing mosque covers an area of 2.5 acres, and the main hall has a construction area of 400 square meters. It is an antique brick-wood structure building.
The main hall has 3 doors, all of which are screen-style carved partitions. In front of the door is a hallway supported by wooden columns.

Sanmei Mosque in Eryuan County（洱源县三枚清真寺）

Location: Sanmei Village, Yousuo Township, Eryuan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was first built in 1908 and later expanded. It now covers an area of 5 mu, with a construction area of 2,540 square meters and a main hall construction area of 990 square meters.
It is in the Chinese classical style, with a single-eaved hip roof in the front and covered with green glazed tiles.

Qiaohou Mosque in Eryuan County（洱源县乔后清真寺）

Location: Qiaohou Township, Eryuan County, Yunnan Province
Qiaohou Mosque was built around 1872, with a construction area of 200 square meters

Tupan Mosque in Eryuan County（洱源县土庞清真寺）

Location: Beishipang Village, Yousuo Township, Eryuan County, Yunnan Province
Built in 1896, Moon-Watching Tower built in 1920, with a construction area of about 1,000 square meters and a total construction area of 2,500 square meters.

Jiming Mosque in Eryuan County（洱源县鸡鸣清真寺）

Location: Yousuo Township, Eryuan County, Yunnan Province
Jiming Mosque was built in 1977. The main hall has a construction area of 366 square meters and the entire mosque has a construction area of 2,000 square meters

Eryuan County Shangbeimen Mosque（洱源县上北门清真寺）

Location: Yuhu Town, Eryuan County, Yunnan Province
Founded in 1904, it was rebuilt in June 1987, with a new area of 2.3 acres and a main prayer hall of 170 square meters

Binju Mosque in Binchuan County（宾川县宾居清真寺）

Location: Binju Township, Binchuan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was built during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty. The main hall is in Chinese classical style and covers an area of 6 acres. There are currently 3 prayer halls, which were rebuilt in 1933.

Dongqing Mosque, Zhoucheng Township, Binchuan County(宾川县州城乡东庆清真寺)

Location: Longse Village, Zhoucheng Township, Binchuan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was founded in 1929 and now covers an area of 3.2 acres, with a construction area of 267 square meters. It is a traditional Chinese architectural form with a brick and wood structure. The main buildings include the gate, prayer hall, study room, bathroom, etc.
The mosque houses 4 Arabic classics.

Daweigang Mosque in Weishan County(巍山县大围埂清真寺)

Location: Daweigang Village, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
Daweigang Mosque consists of a prayer hall, a minaret, wing rooms and a gatehouse. The minaret divides the temple into two parts. In front of the temple is a square of about 1 acre, with a banyan tree in the middle, which is so lush that two people can hug it together, and its branches and leaves are lush and green.

Weishan County Xiaoweigang Mosque(巍山县小围埂清真寺)

Location: Xiaoweigang Village, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
Chinese and foreign scholars also visit frequently.
The mosque consists of a prayer hall, a minaret, a teaching building and wing rooms. The minaret is in the middle, dividing the academy into two parts.

Huihuideng Mosque in Weishan County(巍山县回辉登清真寺)

Location: Huihuideng, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
There are 958 households and 4,616 people, all of whom are Hui people and belong to the Gedimu. The cultural education is well developed, with 1 junior high school and 1 complete primary school.

Weishan County Sanjia Village Mosque（巍山县三家村清真寺）

Location: Sanjia Village, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The construction date of the mosque is unknown. The prayer hall was rebuilt in 1914 and expanded in 1977, with a construction area of 713 square meters. In 1945, a new minaret was built with a construction area of 528 square meters, which also served as the gatehouse of the mosque. There are 38 wooden houses around the front and back of the main hall, which serve as classrooms and dormitories.
The total construction area of the mosque is 3520 square meters, covering an area of about 10 acres.

Weishan County Mamichang (Ma surname) Mosque（巍山县马米厂（马姓）清真寺）

Location: Mamichang, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was first built in the late Yuan Dynasty and early Ming Dynasty. The main hall was rebuilt in 1910, with a single-eaved Jingshan style. It was expanded in 1976 with a construction area of 596 square meters. In 1991, the minaret was demolished and rebuilt with a construction area of 600 square meters.
There are several side rooms used as classrooms and dormitories. The total construction area of the college is 1947 square meters, covering an area of about 8 acres.

Shenhe Village Mosque in Weishan County（巍山县深河村清真寺）

Location: Shenhe Village, Dacang Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The construction date of the mosque is unknown. It was burned down in 1872, rebuilt in 1917, and expanded in 1976. The building area is 806 square meters. The minaret was built in 1946 with a building area of 520 square meters. There are several wooden houses used as classrooms and dormitories for imams and mullahs.

Weishan County Mamichang (Mi surname) Mosque（巍山县马米厂（米姓）清真寺）

Location: Mamichang, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was first built in an unknown year and was rebuilt in 1988. It has a basement with a construction area of 589 square meters. In 1946, the Yili Building was newly built. The total construction area of the mosque is 1,445 square meters, covering an area of about 3 acres.

Hedi Street Mosque in Weishan County（巍山县河底街清真寺）

Location: Hedi Street, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
In 1984, in order to meet the needs of population development and Hui people’s worship, the mosque was officially built. It has a main hall and a street-side residential building, covering an area of about 1.6 acres.
The total construction area of the mosque is more than 600 square meters.

Weishan City Mosque in Weishan County（巍山县巍山城清真寺）

Location: Wenhua Town, Weishan County, Yunnan Province (Weishan City)
The construction date of the mosque is unknown. In 1994, a new site was set aside to build a temple. The prayer hall was officially completed with a construction area of 310 square meters.
Together with the old hall, it covers an area of about 3 mu, with a total construction area of 566 square meters.

Weishan County Juzhong Huiying Mosque（巍山县句中回营清真寺）

Location: Dianzhong Street, Dacang Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The construction date of the mosque is unknown. It was originally a residential building. In 1944, three new prayer halls were built, with a single-eaved hip roof style. In 1981, it was expanded to five, with a construction area of 255 square meters. In 1990, a new minaret was built, with a construction area of about 400 square meters. Together with the old mosque, the entire mosque covers an area of about 5 mu, with a total construction area of 1,495 square meters.

Donglianhua Mosque in Weishan County（巍山县东莲花清真寺）

Location: Donglianhua, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province.
The construction date of the prayer hall of the mosque is unknown. It was rebuilt in 1943 and expanded in 1987. The prayer hall is 41.2 meters long and 19.5 meters wide, with a construction area of 803 square meters. The minaret was newly built in 1945 and rebuilt in 1990, with a construction area of 856 square meters. The whole mosque covers an area of about 8 mu, with a total construction area of 3,000 square meters.

Weishan County Shangxi Lianhua Mosque（巍山县上西莲花清真寺）

Location: Shangxi Lianhua, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was first built in an unknown year. It was demolished in 1872 and rebuilt in 1956. It was expanded in 1977 with a construction area of 350 square meters. The two wooden houses are used as classrooms and dormitories for imams and mullahs. The entire mosque covers an area of about 4 mu, with a total construction area of 1,216 square meters.

Xiaxilianhua Mosque in Weishan County（巍山县下西莲花清真寺）

Location: Xiaxilianhua, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was first built in an unknown year. It was demolished in 1872, rebuilt in 1925, and expanded in 1990. The building area is 320 square meters. There are many wooden houses on both sides, which are used as classrooms and dormitories for imams and mullahs. The whole mosque covers an area of about 4 mu, with a total construction area of 1088 square meters.

Yingwei Village Mosque in Weishan County（巍山县营尾村清真寺）

Location: Yingwei Village, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was first built at an unknown time. It was destroyed in 1872 and then rebuilt three times. It was expanded in 1977 and has a construction area of 530 square meters.

Weishan County Qianmenkou Mosque（巍山县签门口清真寺）

Location: Qianmenkou, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was first built in 1888 and rebuilt in 1983, with a construction area of 405 square meters. Later, a minaret was built with a construction area of 210 square meters. There are several wooden wing rooms used as classrooms and dormitories for imams and mullahs, with a total construction area of 1,770 square meters.

Shulong Village Mosque in Weishan County（巍山县树龙村清真寺）

Location: Shulong Village, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The construction date of the mosque is unknown. It was demolished due to relocation to the north of the village. A new three-bay prayer hall was built in 1902, and it was expanded in 1973. In 1990, in order to meet the needs of population development, the old was demolished and a new one was built. The building area is 1,436 square meters.

Chenjia Mosque in Shulong Village, Weishan County（巍山县树龙村陈家清真寺）

Location: Chenjia, Shulong Village, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was first built in an unknown year. It was rebuilt in 1902 and renovated several times. In 1987, the main hall was expanded with a construction area of 160 square meters. There are two side rooms.

Xincun Mosque in Weishan County（巍山县新村清真寺）

Location: Xincun, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
Backed by mountains and facing the water, with orchards everywhere, fresh air and pleasant scenery. There are 70 households and more than 400 people, all of whom are Hui people and belong to the Gedi group.

Baisha Village Mosque in Weishan County（巍山县白沙村清真寺）

Location: Baisha Village, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was first built in an unknown year. It was renovated in 1914, renovated again in 1944, and expanded in 1987. The main hall is two-story with a construction area of 900 square meters. In 1993, a new minaret was built with a construction area of 400 square meters, with classrooms and dormitories. There are 11 wooden houses, which are used as dormitories for teaching imams.
The entire mosque is still under construction, covering an area of about 4 mu and a total construction area of 1,900 square meters.

Dawu Maolin Mosque in Weishan County（巍山县大五茂林清真寺）

Location: Dawang Maolin, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was first built in an unknown year. It was rebuilt in 1911 and expanded in 1979. The double-eaved Xieshan-style prayer hall has two floors and a construction area of 1,120 square meters. The minaret was built in 1988. It is a four-cornered pavilion with a construction area of 469 square meters. It covers an area of about 5 mu and a total construction area of 3,781 square meters.

Weishan County Xiaowumaolin Mosque（巍山县小五茂林清真寺）

Location: Xiaowumaolin, Shuijian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The mosque was first built in an unknown year. It was rebuilt in 1929. The prayer hall is a single-eaved hip-and-gable style. It was expanded in 1976 with a construction area of 250 square meters. In 1989, a new minaret was built. It is a four-cornered pavilion-style building with a construction area of 422 square meters.
There are 23 wooden houses on both sides, which are used as classrooms and dormitories. The total construction area of the whole mosque is 2,255 square meters.

Weishan County Yanqichang Mosque（巍山县晏旗厂清真寺）

Location: Yanqi, Yongjian Township, Weishan County, Yunnan Province
The construction date of the mosque is unknown. It was occupied in 1872 and rebuilt at a new location in 1911. The prayer hall is a double-eaved Jingshan style. It was expanded in 1980 and has a construction area of 860 square meters. In 1994, a new minaret was built. It is a rectangular pavilion with 7 grids and a construction area of 280 square meters.
