Water-Splashing Festival celebrated in west Yunnan

The China•Dehong 2019 International Water-Splashing Festival kicked off at Mangshi City, west Yunnan’s Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture on April 12.
Located in the westernmost part of Yunnan Province, Dehong prefecture borders Myanmar in three directions.
Themed opening-up, cooperation, unity and development, this year’s festival was jointly hosted by the CPC Dehong Prefectural Committee, the People’s Government of Dehong Prefecture, and the OCT Group.
Tens of thousands of tourists from home and abroad gathered at the square in downtown Mangshi, the prefectural capital, conveying their best wishes to others by sprinkling water.
Besides water splashing, other activities were also held: the 10th Conference of the World Yunnan Community Federation, the 2nd “Silk Road•Shot” International Mirco Film Dehong Festival, the 1st Seminar for History & Culture of Dai People in West Yunnan, and the Ruili•Jiegao 1st International Tax-Free Shopping Carnival.
