Yunnan Black Tea Research Center Was Founded to Promote the Development of Yunnan Black Tea Industry
On September 26, the unveiling ceremony for the Yunnan Province Black Tea Engineering Technology Research Center was held at the West Yunnan University of Applied Sciences. The event was marked by the presence of Hou Shuqian, President of the Yunnan Academy of Science and Technology, Wang Deqiang, President of West Yunnan University of Applied Sciences, and Feng Zhijun, Assistant President of the Dianhong Group, who jointly unveiled the center.
The Yunnan Province Black Tea Engineering Technology Research Center was established with Dianhong Group as the leading entity, in collaboration with the Yunnan Academy of Science and Technology and West Yunnan University of Applied Sciences. The center, officially recognized and approved, adopts a “production, education, and research” collaborative model. Dianhong Group leverages its advantages in the “Dianhong tea-making technique” listed in the Intangible Cultural Heritage directory, along with its resources in base production, germplasm, product sales, and brand culture. West Yunnan University of Applied Sciences contributes through talent cultivation, research experiments, and the development of new black tea products. The Yunnan Academy of Science and Technology provides expertise in talent and technological platforms. Each unit involved in the center has its specific roles and responsibilities, working together to complement each other’s strengths. The center focuses on the protection and development of Yunnan’s large-leaf black tea resources and aims to promote the growth of Yunnan’s black tea industry, positioning the research center as a key driver for the industry’s development.
Tea is a prominent symbol of Lincang, and Dianhong is a renowned brand of the region. The establishment of the Yunnan Province Black Tea Engineering Technology Research Center in Lincang provides a technological innovation platform for the Dianhong tea industry.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by representatives from relevant departments of the Lincang Municipal Government, China COSCO Shipping Corporation, and West Yunnan University of Applied Sciences.
