Linxiang District Culture
1.Ethnic Groups
By 2012, the total population of Linxiang District is 320,000. There are 23 ethnic minorities, such as Yi, Bai, Dai, Zhuang, Miao, Hui, Lisu, Lahu and so on.
2.Ethnic Towns
Two ethnic towns are included in Linxiang District, Nanmei Lahu Ethnic Town(南美拉祜族乡) and Pingcun Yi and Dai Ethnic Town(平村彝族傣族乡).
3.Ethnic Culture
Represented by the festivals of Yi, Dai, Lahu. Here are some Festivals and activities in Linxiang District, the Torch Festival of the Yi ethnic group, Moheilian of Yi ethnic group(彝族摸黑脸), Water-splashing of Dai ethnic group, Dai Qiangqin(傣族抢亲, a marriage custom of Dai ethnic group), the Gourd Festival of Lahu ethnic group.
