Most people in Longyang are Han, Yi, Bai. The ethnic groups have their own languages, which are quiet different from Chinese. While most of them can speak good Chinese but hardly English.

Longyang can be accessible by air and long-distance bus. Baoshan Yunrui Airport has flights flying to and from Kunming, Chengdu, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Changsha, Xian, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Beijing, Guiyang, etc.
There are two Passenger Transport Bus Stations in Longyang, which are the South Passenger Transport Bus Station and the North Passenger Transport Bus Station. Tourists can take bus to Baoshan from Gongshan, Ruili, Tengchong, Lijiang, Kunming, etc.

It is suitable for traveling Longyang all the year round. In every March and May, Longyang is covered with spring flowers, green flowers and beautiful scenery. From August to December, the autumn in Longyang comes with cool weather, which is very suitable for travelling.
