A photography exhibition on Diqing intangible cultural heritages was held to promote tourism in the Tibetan prefecture at the Kunming-based Yunnan Provincial Library on April 26.
The exhibition was jointly hosted by Yunnan Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center, Yunnan Provincial Library, Cultural Center of Yunnan Province, and Culture and Tourism Bureau of Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.
More than 10 cultural-heritage inheritors attended the event, showing their crafts live in making the Tibetan black pottery, incense and knives, as well as brewing the highland-barley wine and processing the Naxi handmade paper.
“I’ve been making Tibetan incense for more than 20 years, and I hope the craft can be passed down to more people as a way to go out of poverty,” Xiangba Jiangshen, the fifth inheritor of the Diqing Tibetan incense making.
In recent years, shows and products related to cultural heritages in Diqing have been turned into part of the tourism industry in the Tibetan prefecture, which aims to be a destination favored by tourists around the world.
The cultural exhibition will last until May 26.
