Highlights, new pavilions at the ongoing 2019 SSACEIF

The 2019 South and Southeast Asia Commodity Expo and Investment Fair (SSACEIF) is going on nowadays in Kunming, Yunnan Province. And here are the highlights and new pavilions at this year’s trade fair.
Keyword: 17 pavilions, 20 top exhibitors
Themed “a better gateway and powerhouse for shared development and prosperity,” the SSACEIF covers around 170,000 square meters, with 7,500 booths set up in 17 pavilions.
The 2019 SSACEIF brings in exhibitors from 74 countries, regions and international organizations worldwide, including 20 of the worlds’ top 500 companies. 14 high-end forums are staged in Kunming, the host city.
Keyword: 5G network
At present, 14 trial 5G base stations have been built near the Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Center, offering sound 5G network service.
In the 7th pavilion, a 5G experience area was set up, where visitors can learn more about Yunnan’s digital economy, smart travel, e-commerce and government apps.
Keyword: 4 new pavilions
The four pavilions appear at the SSACEIF for the first time: Pavilion of B&R Investment and Cooperation, Pavilion of Green Energy, Pavilion of Tea and Nut, and the digital Yunnan exhibition area.
Pavilion of B&R Investment and Cooperation
The venue displays emerging technologies such as 5G network, giving off an air of science and innovation.
Pavilion of Green Energy
The pavilion displays Yunnan’s new technologies and products in green energy, featuring digitalization and AI.
Pavilion of Tea and Nut
The pavilion shows Yunnan’s achievements in plantation, development, deep processing, brand promotion, poverty alleviation and integration of tertiary industries in relation to tea and nut industries.
Digital Yunnan exhibiting area
In the 5G-experiencing area, visitors can learn more about Yunnan’s digital economy, smart travel, e-commerce and government apps.

To further China’s multilateral diplomacy, economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges with south & southeast Asia and beyond, through exhibitions, business talks and cooperation.
Key phrase: increased influence of the SSACEIF
Tea Kong, minister-counsellor at the Cambodian Embassy in China, said:
“The Belt and Road Initiative has something in common with the Cambodian development plan. Cambodia and China both embrace infrastructure buildup and connectivity, and the SSACEIF is expected to play its due role.”
Badar U Zaman, commercial counselor at the Pakistani Embassy in China, said:
“Influence of the SSACEIF is increasing. The exhibition can bring about more orders and cooperation, so we encourage our enterprises to join the event.”
Khamphone Vongsanty, consul-general of Laos to Kunming, said:
“The Lao government attaches great importance to this year’s trade fair, which helps in international cargo exchanges, information sharing and political confidence.”
