How to Get to Yuxi City (Hongta District) from Kunming

Being around 100 kilometers from Kunming（昆明）, the City of Yuxi（玉溪市） covers a total area of 15,285 square kilometers, with a population of 2.3 million(in 2010), which borders on Kunming in the north, Pu’er City in the southwest, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture in the southeast, and Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture（楚雄彝族自治州） in the northwest. It is divided into 2 municipal districts, 5  counties, 3 autonomous counties, with Hongta District（红塔区） assigned as its administrative headquarter.

In topography, its northwestern region is higher than the southeastern part, with mountains, canyons, plateaus and basin distributed across. The City of Yuxi is famous for its large amount of grain production, as well as premium quality tobacco.

How to Get to Yuxi City (Hongta District) from Kunming

1. By Long-Distance Coach

Everyday, there will be about 50 coaches departing from Kunming South Coach Terminal（昆明南部汽车客运站） from 07:00 to 19:15 (departure interval for 15 mins), and the ticket price is around 55 CNY. (The journey is about 1 hr 32 mins)

2. By High-Speed Train

Everyday, there will be about 5 trains departing from Kunming South Railway Station（昆明南火车站） at 08:10, 09:55, 10:07, 18:47, 19:13, and the ticket price is around 32-40 CNY for Second Class, 50-63 CNY for First Class. (The journey is around 30 mins)
