洱源鸡鸣清真寺建于1977年，为重檐歇山式，大殿建筑面积为366平方米，全寺建筑面积2000平方米，占地3亩，大殿建筑极为考究，门窗做工精细，全为木雕花纹式几何图案。

资助并发起在该寺建造1座四层楼阁式唤拜楼，于1992年11月25日落成，并捐资修建1所图书馆。附属该寺的鸡鸣明法学校，已为该地培养了百余名男女宗教人才。 该坊有教民230户，1400余人，均属回族。
