Mudi Jing Village is located in Yongning Town, Ninglang Yi Autonomous County, Lijiang City, Yunnan Province. It is 18 kilometers north of Yongning Township, 20 kilometers east of Lugu Lake Scenic Area, and 25 kilometers south of Lugu Lake Airport. Situated at a high altitude with an elevation of over 2,900 meters, it is a typical ancient village of the Pumi ethnic group, characterized by its green mountains and clear waters.

Cultural History

Mudi Jing Village is a settlement of the Pumi ethnic group, one of China’s ethnic minorities, mainly distributed in the northwestern plateau of Yunnan. The Pumi people have a long history and unique culture, and many traditional customs and lifestyles are preserved in Mudi Jing Village. Additionally, there are rich historical and cultural relics nearby, such as the Zamei Lamasery and the chieftain’s mansion in Yongning Township.
