Dadieshui Waterfall (大叠水瀑布, Dà Dié Shuǐ Pù Bù) is a stunning natural attraction located approximately 15 kilometers downstream from the Nanpan River (南盘江, Nán Pán Jiāng) in Ayoubao Village (阿油堡村, Ā Yóu Bǎo Cūn), Damogu Town (大莫古镇, Dà Mò Gǔ Zhèn), Luliang County (陆良县, Lù Liáng Xiàn), Qujing (曲靖, Qū Jìng), Yunnan Province (云南省, Yún Nán Shěng), China. The waterfall is surrounded by mountains, and its total drop is an impressive 104 meters. During the rainy season, it can reach a remarkable flow rate of 780 cubic meters per second. Near the waterfall, a four-tiered hydroelectric power station has been constructed to harness the water’s energy.

?♂️ Around noon, I chose to traverse the route along the Nanpan River to reach the waterfall. The experience of this trail is truly unique! It spans 6 kilometers, taking me about 5 hours to complete, with a challenging terrain. ? The journey involved walking on riverbed stones, requiring careful navigation. This experience felt remarkably special, as if the entire world consisted of just me and the beauty of nature. It was incredibly awe-inspiring! ?
? Finally, after an arduous journey, I arrived at the breathtaking Dadieshui Waterfall! The moment was overwhelming—words can’t capture the beauty! ? Water cascades from great heights, creating a thunderous sound that seems to hush the entire environment. Standing by the waterfall, the cool mist enveloped me, providing a refreshing sensation that was simply delightful! ? I took countless photos to share on social media later! ??
?️ After a day of excitement, I made sure to treat myself to some local delicacies in Luliang County. ? I enjoyed a variety of potato dishes like “yangyu baba” (洋芋粑粑), grilled potatoes (烤洋芋), and potato salad (拌洋芋)—all absolutely delicious! ? I also tried local specialties such as Luliang duck (陆良板鸭), sweet dumplings (糖撒子), braised chicken (黄焖鸡), and spicy chicken (辣子鸡). Every dish was memorable! ? The local specialty at “Ju Yi Tang Private Kitchen” (聚一堂私房菜) is a must-try! If you have the chance, don’t miss it! ?
