Yimen County Festivals and Events
In Yimen, there are some festivals which still retain more original features. They are inherited and carried forward in the specific minorities and have unique artistic charm, and as for festivals and activies in Yimen, it is similar but unique in it's own way, compared to the other places.
Festivals in Yimen County
1.Torch Festival
The August 8th (the 24th day of the sixth month of the Chinese lunar calendar) is the traditional Torch Festival of Yi ethnic minority.
2."Tiaoyaba" Festival(跳哑巴”节)
This is the original belief festival of the Yi ethnic minority in Biduo Village, Tongchang Town, Yimen County. The main content of the festival is "Tiaoyaba". And the time is in the lunar calendar. On the fourth day of the first month, and jumping for three years, then people will stop for three years.
3.Dancing Flower Festival
During the festival, the Miao ethnic minority dressed up to gather in the traditional dancing ground. Young men and women danced in the center of the flower poles.
Activities in Yimen County
1.Tea house
Teahouses can be seen everywhere, and local people always kill their time in these teahouses.
2.KTV
KTV is the best choice for one who wants to spent a pleasant night and enjoys himself to the full.
3.Others
Bars are also nice for young people. For old people, the veteran cadre activity center is a good choice to kill time.
