Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center is located in Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. It has a pleasant climate and four seasons. History of Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center

Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center was founded in 1992. It covers an area of 225,000 square meters and has a construction area of 240,000 square meters. With superior location, convenient transportation, the facilities are complete including catering, accommodation, entertainment and other supporting services. It is a well-known exhibition enterprise with rich exhibition experience and “one-stop” high-quality service. It is a window for opening up in Yunnan Province and a leading enterprise in Yunnan’s exhibition industry.

  • After its completion in 1993, the first Kunming Export Commodity Fair was successfully held here.
  • In 2004, the exhibition center became the first batch of exhibition enterprise in China to pass the ISO9001: 2000 international quality system certification.
  • On December 31, 2005, it was successfully restructured into a company-owned enterprise controlled by Yunnan Expo Tourism Group, and explored a profit model for the enterprise operation of exhibition venues.
  • In recent years, there are more than 40 professional and comprehensive exhibitions held in Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center every year.

Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center covers an area of 225,000 square meters and has an indoor exhibition area of 100,000 square meters. Among them, there are six single-storey, column-free and large-span exhibition halls with a total of 50,000 square meters: exhibition halls No. 1 and No. 2 are 72 meters long, 70 meters wide and 11 meters high; exhibition hall No. 3 is 100 meters long, 70 meters wide and 16 meters high; exhibition hall No. 4 is 156 meters long, 70 meters wide and 16 meters high; exhibition halls No. 5 and No. 6 are 128 meters long, 70 meters wide and 11 meters high. Indoor exhibition hall can accommodate 5000 international standard booths (with wireless and wired broadband network interface). In addition, there is an outdoor exhibition area of 30,000 square meters, which can accommodate 1500 standard booths. It owns the large space exhibition hall (17 meters high, 76 meters long, 72 meters open and 3 tons/square meters load) with leading level at home and abroad, as well as a large multi-functional hall which can accommodate 2000 banquets and 3000 people, and can meet the needs of conference of 50-3000 people. It also owns multi-function hall, office building, business hotel, fitness center and more than 1000 parking lots.

Technical Parameters

Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center has six major exhibition areas. The exhibition hall covers an area of 125,000 square meters, with a building area of more than 150,000 square meters and an exhibition area of 70,000 square meters. It can accommodate 3,000 international standard booths (with wireless and wired broadband network interfaces). At the beginning of 2001, Yunnan Provincial People’s Government invested 200 million yuan to expand the new hall, with a total floor area of 25,000 square meters. Among them, the first floor is an open parking lot with an overhead basement, with a floor area of 5,184 square meters and a floor height of 4.2 meters, which can accommodate 116 parking lots; the second floor is a multi-functional exhibition hall with a floor area of 5,184 square meters and a height of 13 meters. There are 216 exhibition booths on the third floor, with an area of 5184 square meters, a floor height of 17 meters, a span of 76 meters and a load of 3 tons/square meters. It can accommodate 219 exhibition booths. 

Conference Rooms

There are six international conference halls with different specifications, which can accommodate 50 to 3000 people respectively. They provide advanced Philips DCN digital network conference system, Philips CCS 400 analog conference system, and simultaneous interpretation in six languages. The whole process of the conference can be managed by computer. Teleconference can be carried out to realize the real-time audio and video transmission of the main venue and the branch venue. The conference room can be compatible with computers, laser videos, videos, films and other media. It can also transmit audio and video information to the outside world in real time and realize cross-regional multimedia conference.

In addition to simultaneous interpretation system, the large international conference hall, which can accommodate 3,000 people, is also equipped with 2 pieces of Canadian Christie 200 inch non-seam large high-brightness rear projection and 3 pieces of large LED electronic screen, which can provide comprehensive conference services.

Air Transport

Kunming Changshui International Airport replaced the former Wujiaba international airport and becomes one of the China’s top 10 airports. Currently, the airport has more than 40 airlines, providing flights to domestic, international and regional cities, including Beijing, Chengdu, Guilin, Lhasa, Shanghai, Sanya, Xi’an, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Bangkok, etc. 

Road Transport

Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center is located in the highway transportation hub of Kunming City. Kunming- Shilin highway, Kunming – Yuxi highway, Guiyang – Kunming highway, Kunming – Daluo highway and other highways. It is an important transportation hub connecting western Yunnan, Eastern Yunnan, southern Yunnan, and other provinces and foreign countries.

Rail Transport

Kunming International Convention and Exhibition Center is 5 kilometers away from Kunming Eastern Railway Freight Station (Kunming Railway Freight Center); 5 kilometers away from Wangjiaying Railway Freight Station and Wangjiaying International Logistics Center in Chenggong.

Water Transport

The Lancang-Mekong Gold Waterway, 4880 kilometers of the vast river, links China, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. It boards at Jinghong Port and departs at Guanli Port. After Myanmar and Laos, it can land at Qingsheng Port in Thailand in 10 hours and directly reach the hinterland of the Golden Triangle.
