Axi Ethnic People
Axi is a branch of Yi minority, living in Shilin, Mile, Qiubei and other counties of Yunnan province. Axi ethnic people are part of Yi people, and there are many branches of Yi, such as Awu people(阿吾族), Sanyi people(撒尼族), Heiyi people(黑彝族) and Baiyi people(白彝族). The traditional custom of Axi people to celebrate the Mid-Autumn festival is Tiaoyue(跳月). On the night of the Mid-Autumn festival, young men and women gather from various villages on the open ground, singing and dancing to express their love. It seems that the moon feel touched for them.
