Haba Snow Mountain Transportation

Haba Snow Mountain is a mountain rising above the northwest side of Tiger Leaping Gorge in Yunnan, China. It rises opposite the higher Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and towers 3,500 meters above the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, also known as the Jinsha River. For Haba Snow Mountain transportation, tourists can get there from Lijiang or Shangrila.

How to Get to Haba Snow Mountain

Tourists can take a long-distance bus from Lijiang or Shangri-La to Qiaotou and it will take about 2 hours. Then rent a car or a minibus driving along the highway near Tiger Leaping Gorge for Haba Village. 

Long-distance buses frequently shuttle between Lijiang and Shangri-La every day. You can take the  long-distance bus and get off at Qiaotou if you miss the direct  long-distance bus for Qiaotou from Lijiang or Shangri-La. It’s easy to rent a car or a minibus at Qiaotou and takes around 2 hours to get to Haba Village.

From Lijiang

By Bus

At Lijiang Bus Station, tourists can take a daily bus departing at 09:00 to Baishuitai(白水台) and get off at Haba Village(哈巴村). The journey will take about 6 hours. Located at the foot of the western Haba snow mountain, Haba Village has become a major mountaineering center, attractive to those seeking a relatively easy 5,000-meter peak. 

Alternatively, you can take the bus from Lijiang Bus Station to Hutiaoxia Town(虎跳峡镇) for two hours, and then rent a local van to take you to Haba Village. Lijiang Bus Station, locating southwest to Lijiang Ancient Town on the Changshui Road, is the largest and the most trustworthy public transport station in Lijiang.

By Car-rental

Rent a car to Haba Snow Mountain is more convenient since you can decide your traveling time as you like. It is suitable for a flexible and comfortable way. It is better for you to rent a car with an experienced driver and a tour guide if you are foreign travelers. If you want to have more fun on the way, renting a car is highly recommended. The driver of chartering car can stop for you to enjoy the scenery and take photos. From Shangri-La

By Bus

At Shangrila Bus Station, tourists can take a daily bus departing at 13:50 to Haba Village and it will take about four hours from Shangrila at the cost of CNY 30. Located near major tourist attractions, Shangri La Bus Station is a small while very busy station. Buses from Lijiang, Dali, Kunming and etc are all terminates here. Meanwhile, people would have to gather here to catch buses to leave Shangri La.
