At the end of 2011, Xundian Hui Autonomous County had one sub-district office, nine towns, four townships: Rende Subdistrict(仁德街道), Yangjie Town(羊街镇), Tangdian Town(倘甸镇), Kedu Town(柯渡镇), Gongshan Town(功山镇), Qixing Town(七星镇), Hekou Town(河口镇), Xianfeng Town(先锋镇), Jijie Town(鸡街镇), Fenghe Town(风合镇), Diansha Township(甸沙镇), Jinyuan Township(金源乡), Liushao Township(六哨乡), Lianhe Township(联合乡).

The status of the county is high in the northwest, low in the southeast, and inclined to the southeast ladder. Wumengshan series of mountains, such as liangwang mountain, xiaohai liangzi mainly, intermountain dotted with low valley or lake basin. Whole county mountainous area, alpine mountainous area accounts for 87.5% of total area. In the north, the river system of jinsha river cuts strongly, the river valley is deep and the mountain is steep. The central part of the topography slightly high, the top of the flat, low hills in the southeast scattered between the various sizes of the mountain basin.

Xundian is an important passageway between Yunnan Province and Kunming to Sichuan and Guizhou provinces. The county is 90 away kilometers from Kunming, 87 kilometers away from Qujing, 70 kilometers away from Kunming Airport, belonging to the scope of modern new Kunming one-hour economic circle.

In 2012, the output value of Xundian Hui Yi Autonomous County was 5.69528 billion yuan, an increase of 16.6 yuan over the previous year, of which 1.65365 billion yuan was added to the primary industry, 1.85692 billion yuan to the secondary industry, 1.58222 billion yuan to industry. The added value of the tertiary industry was 2.18471 billion yuan.
