Best Time to Visit Yuanyang Rice Terraces

In Yuanyang, rice transplanting is in May, harvest in September and pouring water into terraces in December. The best time to visit Yuanyang Hani Rice Terraces is from November to next April. Every year, after autumn harvest, the rice paddies will be filled with water. In the middle of December, wild cherry blossom are in bloom, there are wild cherry blossom and palm trees in the fields and the edge of fields. In February, cherry blossom, peach flowers, pear flowers, plum flowers and azalea bloom one after another. There are sea of clouds in the early morning. Until the middle of March, this period is a good time for photography lovers.

What to Pack for Yuanyang Travel

Dressing

The territory in Yuanyang is mainly mountain land, temperature difference is relatively large between day and night. For dressing, you are supposed to give priority to light clothing, warm coat and mountaineering Jackets. Especially when going to Yuanyang in January and February, you should protect yourself from cold, especially those who prepare to shoot the sunrise.

Sunscreen

Safety

There are villages around Yuanyang, most of which are not accessible by highway. Roads are mostly mountain road, you'd better wear flat shoes since you need to walk. Yuanyang County is of landform with mainly mountainous area, which is vulnerable to natural disasters during rainy days.
