Yunnan, known as the “Kingdom of Wild Mushrooms” in China, boasts over 800 varieties of edible wild mushrooms, constituting half of all the species in the world and two thirds of those in China. July and August is the peak season in terms of rain as well as trading and eating wild mushroom which then also are most affordable. At the same time some mushroom festivals are prevailing in the production area of mushroom in Yunnan.
