Anju Village (安居村) is located in Chahe Township (岔河乡), Eshan County (峨山县), Yuxi City (玉溪市), Yunnan Province (云南省). It lies in a mountainous region, approximately 14 kilometers from the township government seat. The village covers a total area of 6.98 square kilometers, at an elevation of 1,568 meters. The annual average temperature is 15.6°C, with an annual precipitation of 865 mm.

History and Culture

Anju Village (安居村) dates back to the Ming and Qing dynasties, when it was part of Taihe Township (太和乡) and Zhonghe Township (中和乡). After the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949, the village became part of Eshan County (峨山县). In December 2016, Anju Village was included in the fourth batch of China’s Traditional Villages List.

Anju Village (安居村) is predominantly inhabited by the Yi ethnic group (彝族) and retains strong Yi cultural traditions.
