Baijixun Town of Weixi County, Diqing

Baijixun Township (白济讯乡)is located in the northwest of Weixi Lisu Autonomous County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is bordered by Pantiange Township to the east, Zhonglu Township to the south, and Kangpu Township to the north. To the west, it is adjacent to Maji and Lishadi Townships of Fugong County along the Biluoshan Mountain. The township covers an area of 593 square kilometers. The terrain is characterized by mountains and valleys, with the Lancang River running through the township from south to north.

History

Baijixun Township has a long history. In the Qing Dynasty, the area belonged to the “Lincheng and along the river” group of the five major stocks. During the Republic of China period, it was successively established as Gongji District and Township, and was also commonly referred to as the Second District. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it was set up as a district, commonly known as the Third District. During the commune period, communes named “Hongqi,” “Wuqi,” and “Baijixun” were successively established.

Folklore

Baijixun Township is a multi-ethnic settlement, home to various ethnic groups including Lisu, Naxi, Bai, Yi, Nu, and Han. The township is known for its rich ethnic cultures and traditional customs.
