Fu Chuan Village is located in Weideng Township, Weixi Lisu Autonomous County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is situated in the basin area, on the edge of Weideng Township, approximately 2.5 kilometers from the township government. Fu Chuan Village lies in the southern part of Weixi County, bordered to the east by Baohe Town and Yongchun Township, to the south by Zhongpai Township of Lanping Bai Autonomous County, and to the west by Luma Deng Township of Fugong County.
Cultural History
The name Fu Chuan comes from the Bai language, meaning “the place where the river roars.” Before the liberation, Fu Chuan Village belonged to Lanping County and was called Fu Chuan Bao. In 1950, it was renamed Fu Chuan Village in Weideng District, and in 1953, it was established as Fu Chuan Township. In 1958, it became the Fu Chuan Administrative Area under Weideng Commune, and in 1962, it reverted to Fu Chuan Commune. In November 1965, it was transferred from Lanping County to Weixi County. In 1969, it was renamed Fu Chuan Brigade, then reverted to Fu Chuan Township in 1984, and later became Fu Chuan Administrative Village in 1988. In 2001, the village-level system was reformed and the Fu Chuan Village Committee was established, which is still in use today.

Fu Chuan Village is home to multiple ethnic groups, including the Lisu, Bai, and Han peoples, with the Lisu population accounting for 64% of the total. The area preserves rich cultural traditions, such as the Lisu people’s “A Che Mu Gua” dance and song, as well as the traditional costumes of the Pumi people.
