The Introduction of Guangbielaozhai(广别老寨)Natural Village

Located in the mountainous area, which, Guangbie Laozhai Village is affiliated to the Manbang(曼蚌)Village, Menghun(勐混)Town, Xishuangbanna Prefecture. You can visit this ancient village in the east of Menghun(勐混) Town, 5 km from Manbang(曼蚌) Village Committee and 11 km from Menghun(勐混) Town. The total acreage of Guangbielaozhai(广别老寨) is 836.16 mu, with an altitude of 1400 meters. The annual average temperature is 17.6 °C, and the annual precipitation is 1329.6 mm. Its natural conditions is suitable for planting rice, tea, sugar cane and other crops. The village owns 558 mu of cultivated land and 653 mu of forest land. There are 363 villagers lived in here and they have formed 82 families. The villagers’ income is mainly based on grain, sugar, tea and livestock.

In this village you can find a kind of ancient tea tree, named Manbang(曼蚌)ancient tea tree, which is grown in the Xianliujia(先六家)tea gardens at 1590 meters above sea level. According to the garden owner, the tea seed, which bred the whole tea gardens, is from Laobanzhang(老班章)Natural village, which is the birthplace of a kind of very famous Puer tea . The plant is arbor-type, and the tree poses upright; the tree height is 9 meters and the width is 3×3.55 meters, the base is 1.25 meters thick, and there are 2 fork branches at 0.45 meters from the base, and the maximum breast-height diameter is 1.21 meters. The budding density is medium, the color of the bud leaves is yellowish green, and the hair of bud leaves is more velvet. The average length of bud with three leaves is 5.6 cm. The harvest season of the spring tea is in mid-March. This kind of tea is plenty of tea polyphenol . The tourists could have the chance to pick the fresh tea leaves and experience the complete procedure of tea baking.

Guangbie Laozhai(广别老寨) Puer(普洱) Tea Area

Guangbie Laozhai(广别老寨) belongs to the Hekai(贺开)Tea mountain. The Whole area of Hekai(贺开) tea mountain includes 7 villages and it is the largest and well preserved ancient tea mountain in Xishuangbanna Prefecture. Although the geographic location of the Guangbielaozha(广别老寨) is in the Brown Mountain, but the tea it produced has been considered owning the best quality by the tea lovers. It tastes changing and special and the color of tea soup is similar to the color of honey. The other tea come from Brown mountain tastes more heavily, but the tea of Guangbielaozhai(广别老寨) is not one of them.The taste of tea of Guang Bielaozhai(广别老寨) is more gentle and sweet. Even after three times water, you can still enjoy this warm and sweet taste. so that the tea drinker can fully feel the sense of satisfaction and joy.

In the Guang Bielaozhai(广别老寨) ancient tea mountain, there is an 800-year old tea tree, which was identified by the Tea Institute of Menghai County in 2006. The height of the tree is about 8.5-9 meters, and the depth of its roots is 8.5-9 meters. Those roots allowed it to absorb sufficient mineral nutrients from soil, so the taste of tea,which is come from this old tea tree,is changing and can also have unique regional features. The drinkers can even distinguish the characteristics of different tea mountains with unique taste of tea.
