History and Culture
Luohebai Village (罗合白村) is a traditional settlement of the Yi ethnic group and is rich in ethnic cultural heritage. In 2025, it was designated a “Chinese Minority Characteristic Village” (中国少数民族特色村寨). The village preserves many traditional Yi-style buildings and cultural customs, making it an important site for studying Yi culture.
Folk Customs
The village retains a wide array of Yi ethnic customs, including unique traditional clothing and folk performances. Local customs include pasting Spring Festival couplets on New Year’s Eve, celebrating the Lunar New Year with lively festivities, and inviting spring guests. Ethnic activities include the Yi Torch Festival on the 24th day of the 6th lunar month and the Miao Bullfighting Festival on the 15th day of the 7th lunar month. Additionally, Luohebai Village (罗合白村) has established a Folk Culture Learning Center to preserve and pass on ethnic culture.

Jiuxi Town (九溪镇) experiences a subtropical plateau monsoon climate, with spring-like weather year-round. Summers are not hot, and winters are mild, with distinct wet and dry seasons. The annual average temperature is 15.7°C, with January averaging 14.5°C and July averaging 23°C. The best time to visit is during spring and autumn, when the weather is pleasant and the natural landscape is at its most beautiful.
