- From Beijing: There is no direct high-speed train to Yunnan from Beijing. Travelers typically take a high-speed train from Beijing to cities like Chengdu or Chongqing first, and then transfer to Yunnan by conventional train or flight.
- From Shanghai: Similarly, there is no direct high-speed train to Yunnan from Shanghai. Travelers can take a high-speed train to Chengdu or Chongqing first, then transfer to Yunnan.
- From Chengdu: Chengdu has high-speed trains to Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. The journey takes around 6-7 hours.
- From Hong Kong: There are direct high-speed trains from Hong Kong West Kowloon Station to Kunming South Station. This is part of the Guangzhou-Kunming High-Speed Railway, with a travel time of approximately 7-8 hours.
- From Xian: There are direct high-speed trains from Xian North Station to Kunming South Station, with a travel time of about 8-10 hours.
- From Guangzhou: Guangzhou has high-speed trains to Kunming, with a travel time of about 7-8 hours.
- From Guilin: There are direct high-speed trains from Guilin to Kunming, with a travel time of around 4.5-5.5 hours.
