It is honored as the first Buddhist pagoda in Dehong. It enjoys the same prestige as Mandele Buddhist Pagoda in Myanmar and is one of the most famous Buddhist pagodas in Southeast Asia.

The Jiele Great Golden Pagoda was built in the 17th century. It consists of 17 pagodas. The pagoda is covered with golden tiles. In addition to the main pagoda, there are 16 small pagodas painted with golden color. The tower base was built with rectangular bluestone. The pagoda group is a steel-concrete structure. The main pagoda is 39.5 meters high. The pagoda body is a regular octagonal shape. It has a cone shape and is covered with golden ceramic tiles. There are a umbrella made of anodized aluminum and weather vane with hundreds of wind chimes. Looking from afar, the golden glare of the golden pagoda is hidden in the forest. The breeze blows, and the bells are pleasing to the ear, reflecting the architectural ideas and artistic achievements of the Dai nationality craftsman hundreds of years ago.
