Jieyi Village is located in Badi Township, Weixi Lisu Autonomous County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It spans both sides of the Lancang River and is approximately 13 kilometers from the Badi Township government. Jieyi Village is situated in a semi-mountainous area and is a typical mountain village.
Cultural History
The name Jieyi comes from the Tibetan language “Zhuiyu,” meaning “snake land,” due to the area’s frequent presence of snakes. In August 2013, Jieyi Village was included in the second batch of traditional Chinese villages. In November 2022, it was recognized as the third batch of provincial-level forest villages in Yunnan Province.

Jieyi Village is primarily inhabited by Tibetan and Lisu people and retains a rich cultural heritage. Local women spontaneously organize the annual “Jieyi Men’s Peach Blossom Festival,” where all the men gather to sing and dance in celebration.
