Kunming-Lincang Transportation

Located in the Southwest of Yunnan, Lincang is an important transportation center which is the most convenient land passage to Yangon of Myanmar. It neighbors Puer in the east, Dali in the north and Baoshan in the west. Burma lies to the southwest of the city. Its downtown area is 610 kilometers from the provincial capital Kunming. The transportation in Lincang is relatively convenient. Travelers can take plane or long-distance bus to get to Lincang. In the near future, you can also take train, because the railway to Lincang is under construction. 

How to Get to Lincang from Kunming

By Plane

There are two airports located in Lincang, one of which is Lincang Airport and another is Cangyuan Airport, both with direct flights to Kunming city. Lincang airport, situated in the west of Boshang Town, is 22.5 kilometers away from the Linxiang District. Cangyuan Washan airport is located in Nuoliang Township, Cangyuan county, 670 kilometers from Kunming, 187 kilometers from Lincang city and 36 kilometers from county seat of Cangyuan county. The journey lasts about 50-min to Lincang airport and 70-min to Cangyuan Airport.

Lincang and Kunming are well linked by highway and travelers can take luxurious long-distance buses from Kunming West Bus Station to Lincang Bus Station. It is about 9.5 hours’ drive from Kunming at daytime and 15.5 hours at night with the ticket fare ranging from RMB 219 to 228. The Bus Schedules are 07:20, 08:00, 08:40, 09:20, 10:00, 10:40, 11:20, 12:00, 19:00, 19:35, 20:10, 21:55.
