Kunming-Zhaotong Transportation

Located 330 kilometers away from Kunming, Zhaotong City is the communication centre and the north gate of Yunnan Province with a convenient transportation system.  It is close to Bijie of Guizhou in the east, Qujing of Yunnan in the south, Liangshan Yi prefecture of Sichuan in the west, and Yibing of Sichuan in the north. Zhaotong is most famous for Dashanbao Black-necked Cranes Nature Reserve.

How to get to Zhaotong from Kunming

By Air

Zhaotong Airport lies in the east of the city proper on the south bank of the Jinsha River, operating 2 daily flights to Kunming. The departure time is 10:25 and 10:35, with a journey of about 50 minutes. 

By Bus

There are more than ten buses departing from Kunming North Bus Station to Zhaotong Central Bus Station. The journey takes about 4-4.5 hours. Zhaotong Central Bus Station lies at Shaoyang district of Zhaotong city. The departure time is 08:00, 08:30, 09:00, 09:30, 10:00, 10:30, 11:00, 11:30, 12:30, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 19:00.

By Train

At present, there is only one train running to Zhaotong, K854 departing from Kunming at 10: 13 and arriving at Zhaotong at 17:52 with the duration of 7 hours and 49 minutes.
