Lijiang Transportation: Long-distance Bus

Currently, the most convenient way to reach Lijiang is by long-distance bus from the neighborhood areas. Lijiang has set up a relatively complete highway system extending in all directions. There are two main bus stations in Lijiang, namely, Lijiang Bus Station, Lijiang Tourist Bus Station and Lijiang Express Bus Station. It is very convenient to travel between the city and other destinations in Yunnan Province. Of course, Kunming, Dali and Shangri-La are the important destinations in the classic Yunnan Travel.

There are two main bus stations in Lijiang, namely, Lijiang Bus Station, Lijiang Tourist Bus Station and Lijiang Express Bus Station. And there are buses to other provinces.

Lijiang Bus Station

Lijiang Bus Station is the largest bus station in Lijiang and there are buses to Shangri-la, Xishuangbanna, Baoshan, Deqin, Dali, Kunming, Panzhihua in Sichuan.

Lijiang Express Bus Station

The Lijiang Express Bus Station mainly operates the buses to Kunming, starting from 9:00-18:00 every day. The models are large buses such as Oppland and Volvo. The journey takes about 8 hours and the fare is 180-230 yuan according to the vehicle model.

Lijiang Tourist Bus Station

The Lijiang Tourist Bus Station mainly operates the shuttle buses to Kunming, Dali. It takes about 3 hours to get to Dali at the price of 40-60 yuan and it takes about 8 hours to get to Kunming at the price of 160-190 yuan.
