Tom Yang-English-speaking Tour Guide in Kunming
Hi, my name is Yangyun (杨云 in Chinese). I am a tour guide leader of Yunnan Exploration Travel. I studied in the Foreign Language Department of Yunnan University from 1982 to 1986. I was the leader of Student Union of our department during that period of time. I worked as an intern at Foreign Affairs Office of Yunnan and took part in the reception of Burma’s president before my graduation.
After I graduated, I was assigned to Kunmingguolv(a subordinate company of Yunnan Provincial Tourism Development Commission) as a foreign affairs translator. Since then, I participated in the receptions of American Motorola’s president, the Hump Pilots Association when they came here to raise a monument in the memory of their air route and the first Kunming Trade Fair. Above all, I went to Southeast Asia to promote and popularize the World Expo as a translator and leader in the delegation of Yunnan tourism.
In 2010, I took part in the reception of Malaysian former King and Queen. Then, I did many receptions for the Kunming Tourism Fair. I am a pioneering tour guide leader in the field of Yunnan outbound travel. I worked on Singapore-Malaysia-Thailand line since 1990, Japan, Korea and Europe since 2000 and Australia for nowadays. I will start a new challenge—a Speaking examiner for the tour guide leader.
