- Visit Dabao Monastery, perched on a hillside at an altitude of 3,300m (10,827 ft), one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist temples in Zhongdian (Shangri-La) County. Rebuilt in 1984, this monastery is renowned for its stunning natural setting, featuring rolling hillsides dotted with sheep, fluttering prayer flags, and towering pine trees. Take a leisurely stroll along the 2 km (1.2 mi) stone wall at the foot of the hill, adorned with delicate Buddhas and scriptures.
