Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Xishuangbanna

Sightseeing and Activities: Xishuangbanna Arrival
Accommodation: Xishuangbanna
Meals: Lunch

Arrive at Xishuangbanna and check in hotel in the downtown.

Day 2 Jinghong-Menghai County

Sightseeing and Activities: County Gate, One Tree Forest, Mengjinglai, experience the traditional folk activities
Accommodation: Dai dwelling in Menghai
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Drive to Sino-Burmese border and visit County Gate and One Tree Forest. After lunch, head to “Mengjinglai“, the No. 1 village on the China-Myanmar border, check in Dai dwelling.

Afternoon, free in the village and experience the traditional folk activities, such as traditional manual papermaking, ceramics, spin, weave, sugar, wine, bamboo weaving, etc.). In the evening taste the famous Dai flavor food and have the exchange activities with the villagers(special arrangements such as traditional welcoming ceremony, singing and dancing bonfire barbecue party, etc.).

Day 3 Menghai County-Jinghong

Sightseeing and Activities: learn about Dai people and Aini people, Nannuo ancient Tea Mountain, taste local food
Accommodation: Jinghong
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Morning, get to know the Mahayana Buddhism culture, the architecture style of temple, Ganlan style architecture of Dai people’s residence, Dai’s costumes and food-making. 

Back to Menghai County and hike around Nannuo ancient Tea Mountain. Visit ancient tea garden and King of tea trees, as well as Aini’s village and dwellings. Learn the folk culture and life of Aini people and taste Aini’s food.

Return to Jinghong after dinner.

Day 4 Mengla County

Sightseeing and Activities: Wangtianshu Scenic Area, Nanla River Rafting, Menyuan Protect Area 
Accommodation: Villa Hotel
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Drive to Wangtianshu Scenic Area and feel the atmosphere of tropical forest. Experience the Nanla River Rafting in the afternoon and appreciate the natural scenery along the way. After dinner, take the ride to Menyuan Protect Area and check in villa hotel.

Day 5 Mengla County

Sightseeing and Activities: tropical forest, Menglun Tropical Botanical Garden
Accommodation: Mengla
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Morning, hike through the tropical forest and enjoy the picnic lunch in the forest. Discover the beautiful and magic rainforest, recognize the diversity of tropical plants and breathe from the natural oxygen bar of nature to wash your lungs. 

In the afternoon, walk out of the forest and back to Menglun Tropical Botanical Garden. Check in the hotel and tour the scenic area in the night.

Day 6 Mengla County-Jinghong Departure

Sightseeing and Activities: Jinghong Departure
Accommodation: 
Meals: Breakfast

Visit the Tropical Botanical Garden and the culture museum. Back to Jinghong in the afternoon and see you off at the airport or train station. Service ends.

Travel Tips:

• Into the rainforest, don’t wear bright clothes. Many plants in the rain forest are stabbed and poisonous. Don’t touch the plants with your hands. Don’t arbitrarily smell wild flowers and taste wild fruits to avoid being scratched or poisoned.
• Pay attention to fire prevention in the forest, cigarettes, plastic products, glass products, metal products and other garbage should not be littered.
• Travelers should slow down in the forest and take care of yourself.
• Visitors are advised to always carry changes of clothing due to the large variations in temperature between day and night.
• The climate is relatively dry, so drink more water every day.
• Protecting oneself from strong UV radiation at high altitude.
• Protecting oneself from altitude sickness. Lessen the effects of altitude sickness, avoid strenuous exercise and have plenty of rest.
