Xiding Hani and Bulang Ethnic Town（西定哈尼族布朗族乡） is located in west Menghai county（勐海县）. It is connected with Mengzhe Town（勐遮镇） in the east, Daluo Town（打洛镇） in the south, Mengman Town （勐满镇）in the north, and faces Myanmar（缅甸） across the river to the west that border line is 54.5 kilometers long.

The total area of Xiding（西定） is 615.49 square kilometers, and the township government is located in Tuanjie Da Village of Xiding Village Committee（西定村委会团结大寨） , which is 48 kilometers away from the county. Xiding（西定） is a place name of Dai language, which means the place to play the Qin (琴/a general name for stringed instruments). It is said that Sakyamuni（释迦牟尼） cruised to this place, and the people welcomed him warmly and played the instrument for him. Therefore, Sakyamuni named this place Xiding.

Traditional Industry —— Big Leaf Kind of Tea

Xiding is the hometown of the famous King Trees of Tea（茶王树） at home and abroad. There are tea trees that have lived for more than 1700 years, and they are known as the “King of Tea Trees”（茶树王） and  “Ancestor of Tea ” （茶祖）in the world tea industry . The high mountains, foggy, soil and climate in Xiding provide advantaged conditions for developing pollution-free tea. With the increasing popularity of Puer tea（普洱茶） in domestic and foreign markets, the enthusiasm of growing tea, managing tea and selling tea in Xiding is also rising. At present, there are 26,503 mu of tea gardens in the township, including 19,687 mu of picking area. Tea industry has truly become the economic income industry of people of all ethnic groups in Xiding Hani and Bulang Ethnic Town（西定哈尼族布朗族乡）.
